Regime begins construction of housing complex on land confiscated from Expica

The regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo consummated the expropriation of the land of the Livestock Exhibition of the Central American Isthmus (Expica), in Managua. On the property, located in the vicinity of Acahualinca, he ordered the installation of the housing complex “Xolotlán Viewpoint”.

The Ortega administration used the same tone in the buildings confiscated from the Organization of American States (OAS), the Nicaraguan Center for Human Rights (Cenidh), Confidencial, 100% Noticias, La Prensa, Operación Sonrisa, Fundación Popol Nah, Ipade, among others. .

On the confiscated land of Expica, which has an extension of 19 blocks, the regime plans to build around 450 houses. «They are houses of 60 square meters, with a plot of 150 square meters; Let’s remember that the fees for the Bismark Martínez housing program range from $80 to $170,” explained Reyna Rueda, mayor of Managua.

The housing complex will have four construction models: acacia, trinitaria, cove and sunflowers. The requirements to acquire one of the homes are: Being of legal age; not having benefited from a subsidy, Invur voucher or housing program from the Mayor’s Office of Managua; present a letter of request addressed to the dictator Daniel Ortega; updated INSS stub (original and copy); updated salary certificate (original and copy); the updated refusal of assets (original and copy) and a copy of the identity card of the applicant, the beneficiary and the members of the nucleus, families or birth certificate, of minors.

Expica is part of the non-governmental organizations that have been outlawed by the Ortega dictatorship. There are already more than three thousand NGOs canceled by the National Assembly, dominated by the ruling party, and the Ministry of the Interior (Migob).

The Ortega deputies seized the legal personality of Expica in July 2022, in September of that year the facilities of the livestock entity were taken over and they are currently working on the start-up of a housing project.

The organization was created in 1994 with the purpose of promoting the exchange of experience in the livestock sector through a Central American fair that was part of the tourist attraction of the August festivities in Managua. The closure of the organization caused economic losses for dozens of ranchers and other businessmen, both nationally and regionally.

Expica was a regional organization based in Nicaragua, led by Óscar Sobalvarro, former presidential candidate for Ciudadanos por La Libertad (CXL) in 2021 before the political group was outlawed.
