Raffo: “We believe that total credibility was lost in the coordinator”

Raffo

The president of the Montevideo Department of the National Party, Laura Raffo, convened a special extended session this Monday with the aim of dealing with the issue of food and social policies in the capital. Hierarchs of the Ministry of Social Development (Mides) attended to delve into the controversy over the popular pots, which involves the Popular and Solidarity Coordinator (CPS).

From Mides they affirm that the list presented by the Coordinator contains 20 non-existent pots and that, therefore, “trust was lost” in her as an intermediary to deliver food to popular pots. Meanwhile, from the CPS they responded that the information presented corresponds to incomplete data.

“greave information”

“The conclusion of the Montevideo Department of the National Party is that the information that was released is very serious. In short, it was confirmed that the Popular and Solidarity Coordinator speculated politically on such a sensitive issue as feeding people,” the president of the National Party Department in the capital, Laura Raffo, told Telemundo.

In this sense, Raffo said that the “CPS had said that there was hunger in Montevideo, that the food that Mides was providing was not enough; To verify this information, which did not coincide with what the Mides detected in the territory, he asked her to provide the data on which pots they were delivering the food to, because they are intermediaries; and when they deliver that data, it was detected that the number of pots and picnic areas to which these coordinators delivered food was much lower than what they said publicly.

“We believe that total credibility was lost in the coordinator and that Mides’ decision to now deliver food directly to the pots and picnic areas, or through the collection centers of Uruguay Adelante, is very wise,” Raffo said.

Cosse cataloged as “unfortunate” and “misguided” the decision of the Mides

In addition, the nationalist leader also targeted the mayor of Montevideo, Carolina Cosse, who considered the Mides measure to withdraw support from the CPS “unfortunate and ill-advised.”

“I evaluate as outrageous the attitude shown by the mayor of Montevideo, Carolina Cosse, who chose to defend the network of pots, the intermediary, instead of defending those who need food, who is the final beneficiary,” Raffo said, adding : “The important thing here is that the food will reach the final beneficiary, who is the most vulnerable person, yes or yes. It’s not about defending an intermediary, it’s about defending the people.”
