Next Tuesday (31), the Brasilia National Radio completes 64 years of history and good service to society. For more than six decades, the public broadcaster has offered reliable information and entertainment to listeners not only in the Federal District, but throughout the country.
The trajectory of National is confused with the history of Brazil and the federal capital. Created in 1958, with the purpose of supporting the construction of Brasília, the radio served as a means of communication for the workers who were building the new city.
To celebrate the date, the broadcaster has already anticipated the festivities with vignettes aired during its programming. These are messages from artists, listeners, internet users, employees of National and interviewees from different areas, in a tribute to radio.
The tributes continue this Saturday (28), with the program Brasilia National Radio Special – 64 years, which will be broadcast directly from parking lot 13 of the Parque da Cidade de Brasília, from 9 am to 12 pm. The proposal is to bring together the broadcaster’s anchors to interact with the public and with the artists who will be performing at the venue.
The participation of Ray Titto and Calabares and the Country dance group are already confirmed; the country duo Fábio and Maicon; by Valvox and Luciana Andrade from the MPB band Som A+; of sudden artists from Casa do Cantador; from Os currents do Forró; and capoeira and maculelê performances with Grupo Grito de Liberdade.
The Detran/DF Traffic Education Management will also be present in the program, with the theater group that will help in the distribution of educational material related to Yellow May, an awareness campaign about traffic deaths.
And on Tuesday (31), the day that marks the 64th anniversary of Nacional de Brasília, listeners will be able to check, live, a special thematic program broadcast throughout the day.

Entertainment, sport, chat and news are some of the contents that are on the air for the new programming of National Radio. The music tracks bring national genres and honor stars who are successful in the new MPB and contemporary pop in the country, in addition to the classics of Brazilian music.
New generation personalities who mobilize the public on digital streaming platforms gain space in attractions and in the selection of radio songs. The repertoire includes hits by artists that resonate with young people such as the band Melim, Tiago Iorc and Vitor Kley.
The strategy of strengthening the broadcaster’s digital presence is another initiative to increase the relationship with its audiences and reach new listeners. For that, the National is on Instagram and intensifies broadcasts on YouTube.
The radio is also present on Spotify with the profile National Radio. The space makes available playlists with current hits and compositions segmented by genre. Fans can also hear new playlists with the contents of the broadcaster’s programs. Public participation is ensured through social networks and WhatsApp. The announcers look for this integration during the programming of the National.
Wideband network transmissions
The consolidation of the network National Radio is one of the achievements of 2021. In addition to the traditional FM 96.1 MHz frequency in Brasília, in May, the station gained presence in four other Brazilian capitals, in the so-called extended band, on FM 87.1, in Rio de Janeiro, which still remains in AM, and in São Paulo, Belo Horizonte and Recife. Nacional is also in São Luís, on the FM 93.7 MHz dial. Now, the contents go online on the air.
One of the goals for 2022 is to extend the network’s reach by expanding to other capitals.
