Public Ministry raids residence to deputy, wife of implicated Falcón case

Santo Domingo.-Members of the Public Ministry raided and seized several buildings owned by the former director of Comunidad Digna, Juan Maldonado Castro, alleged leader of the drug trafficking and money laundering network in the Falcón case and another defendant.

In addition to the former director of Comunidad Digna, Maldonado Castro, properties of the defendant Kelvin Torres were also seized, both with a measure of coercion due to their links to the criminal structure led by Erick Randhiel Mosquea Eduardo.

The operations were carried out after a judge from the Santiago Investigation Court ordered the Public Prosecutor’s Office to present an accusation against the defendants in the Falcón case within a period of 15 days.

The seized properties located in Santiago, the National District and the Eastern region, such as El Seibo, where some of these properties had been raided and other new properties that were identified during the investigation.

Among the properties seized is the residence of Faustina Guerrero, wife of the defendant Maldonado Castro, where they took care of various documents, computers and other evidence that will be provided against those involved in the network.

The operations are part of the investigations carried out by the Public Ministry.
Those involved in the Falcón network would have moved more than 5,200 kilos of drugs from South America to the country with final destination in Puerto Rico, and laundered millions of pesos to benefit the network.

Juan Carlos Mosquea Eduardo, brother of Mosquea Polanco, considered the main ringleader of the network, is subjected to the case.

They have also been charged in the case of Juan Carlos Durán Rodríguez, Ana Margarita Collado Marte, Andrés Guzmán Collado, Amadeo Garibaldi Read Ruiz, Angélica María Maldonado and Antonio Tavares Rodríguez.

In addition, Víctor Elpidio Altagracia Paulino, Luis Daniel Nieves Batista, Adolfo Antonio Torres Sanabia, José Alejandro De la Cruz Morales, María Olimpia Tavares Rodríguez (Oli and/or The Princess), and Juan Maldonado Castro (Marcial and/or The Leader), and Julio César Jiménez Talavera (Dominican-Venezuelan), among others.
