Program ‘Pacifying my Neighborhood’ returns from this Monday, February 7 to the village of Betania

From this Monday, February 7 to Wednesday, February 9, the “Pacifying my Neighborhood” Program will be at the Eugenio Yuyín Luzcando gym, in the township of Betania, where weapons will be received from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and ammunition in exchange for vouchers redeemable in shops, supermarkets and restaurants.

The weapons delivery process is completely confidential, which has allowed people to hand them in without any news, said the governor of the province of Panama, Carla García.

Since it began on December 13, the program has paid the sum of B/. 80,702.05, in the district of San Miguelito and the corregimientos of El Chorrillo, Calidonia, Santa Ana, Curundú, Betania, Don Bosco, 24 de Diciembre, Pacora and Alcalde Díaz, to hundreds of people who have delivered 304 firearms, 26 thousand 574 ammunition, 245 magazines, 20 explosives and 19 accessories.

The program has the collaboration of the Ministry of Security, the National Police, the community boards and local organizations, and total confidentiality is guaranteed to the people who come to deliver weapons and ammunition.
