The Justice sentenced a man found guilty of breaking into the home of a mayor of Cerro Largo and stealing $10,000 from her.
The crime took place around 3:30 a.m. on July 21 in the city of melo. The now condemned entered the house of the white mayor María del Carmen Arismendes while she and the occupants of the house were sleeping.
After entering the residence through a window-door, the subject took $10,000 and fled the site. Given the complaint filed by the facts, the authorities began a review of the video surveillance cameras arranged in the area by the Ministry of the Interior, as well as that of the neighbors who live there. With these images the authorities found the identity of the offender.
