President says he will comply with WTO demand for more food

President Jair Bolsonaro said today (30), during a visit to ExpoZebu, in Uberaba, that the request of the World Trade Organization (WTO), made by director general Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, to produce more food will be met. “They will have more food for sure, because year after year, our productivity increases, whether in agriculture or livestock. This is the work of all of you, Brazilian people who work, who invest, who believe, have faith and want their country to get better and better”, said the president during the opening of the event.President says he will comply with WTO demand for more food

Bolsonaro also recalled that more than 30 ships with fertilizers are on their way from Russia to Brazil, as a result of the trip he made to the country in February to deal with the purchase of these products. “Our agriculture doesn’t stop, much less our livestock”, he said.

To an audience of rural producers, Bolsonaro said that Brazil won the covid-19 pandemic and that he expects the end of Russia’s war against Ukraine in a short time for the country to return to normal. “We won the pandemic. God willing, by the end of next month, this war on the other side of the world will end, and we will return to our normality.”

The president said he expected the country to move towards modernity. “What we want is to make Brazil, more and more, march towards modernity and be on the side of those who produce in our homeland. There is no better or greater pride than that of visiting other countries, always accompanied by my ministers, being welcomed, yes, with a red carpet,” he said.

Bolsonaro called for a peaceful demonstration tomorrow, May 1, Labor Day. “Tomorrow will not be a day for protests. It will be a day for our people to unite for an ever better future for all of us”.
