The Colombian President, Gustav Petro, appointed this Friday the new leadership of the Military and Police Forces with which it seeks to guarantee “human security policy” for “guarantee the reduction of violence and increase peace and respect for human rights”.
The new commander of the Military forces it will be General Helder Fernando Giraldo Bonilla; the one from Army, General Luis Mauricio Ospina; of the NavyVice Admiral Francisco Hernando Cubides, and the Air ForceGeneral Luis Carlos Córdoba, announced Petro in a statement to the press.
The president added that the new director of the Policeman will be General Herny Armando Sanabria and that, for the first time in the history of that institution, a woman, Brigadier General Yackeline Navarro Ordóñez, will be the deputy director.
