The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, urged the deputies to exercise comptrollership to find out what the scope of the laws approved in Parliament has been.
Through his account on the social network Twitter, he indicated this Saturday that it is not enough to sanction the bills, but “we must give value to the written word,” he stressed.
It should be noted that Rodríguez, through a video posted on his accounts on social networks, is seen in a wheelchair, entering parliament, after a medical situation. In his reflection, he commented on how complex it had been for him to enter the session, even highlighting his own responsibility because the spaces of the Federal Legislative Palace have not yet been conditioned for people with any motor disability.
“I am speaking self-critically because I have the feeling that here we raise our hands, the law is sanctioned and we already forget about it,” he said, referring to the fact that on January 24 the National Assembly sanctioned the Special Law for people with some disability.
“We do not know what the scope of that law really was, we do not know if it really had an impact on Venezuelan society or not, we do not know how many people are being benefited, protected, protected by a certain legal instrument that we made. Isn’t that our job? ”, She criticized.
He also stressed that the Bolivarian Constitution of Venezuela establishes the comptroller function of the National Assembly and must be fulfilled.
Therefore, he urged the deputies to permanently review the actions that are carried out in Parliament.
