The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, led the morning of this Wednesday, January 22, the deployment of the Bolivarian Shield 2025 military exercise, which seeks to improve the operational training of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb).
These maneuvers will be carried out in perfect popular, military and police union in order to strengthen the capabilities, in strategic, operational and tactical areas, of the Fanb in favor of the comprehensive defense of the nation.
In this sense, the first president, from the courtyard of the Bolivarian Military University of Venezuela in Caracas, recalled that 2025 marks 19 years since the birth of the Bolivarian Shield exercises “to defend our right to live, to exist, to the peace of a beautiful Venezuela that has risen in the exercise of its permanent sovereignty.”
“I hope that today the powerful union of the popular-military-police fusion will flourish again, the people of our Liberator Simón Bolívar, the great people of Commander Hugo Chávez. We began this exercise to guarantee peace, sovereignty, freedom and true democracy in our land,” stressed the head of state.
In this exercise, according to the presidential press, operations are put into practice that will guarantee the military defense and internal order of the country, thus ensuring the functioning of basic services and the security of strategic installations, and at the same time, supporting security in the cities and borders of the entire geographic space of Venezuela.
The third T of the 7 transformations
On the other hand, the President emphasized that, with the launch of these military maneuvers, the activation of the third T of the great transformation of the 2025-2031 Plan is declared.
“This is the T of citizen security and the defense of the homeland; territorial unity and integrity. Here are the guidelines that have been built and are in the hands of the National Assembly. Once the National Assembly approves them, it will be the Organic Law of the Republic and we will continue building,” he emphasized.
Likewise, the President assured that peace and independence are not static, “threats move and we move in front of them.”
