The President of the Republic Nicolás Maduro sent a congratulatory message to his counterpart Luiz Inácio “Lula” da Silva, who this Sunday became the highest figure of the Brazilian Executive after taking an oath in front of Congress.
In a message posted on the social network Twitter, the Creole head of state stressed that Lula’s arrival evidences the arrival of “a new wave of liberation” on the continent.
He stressed that the Brazilian’s leadership will allow “geopolitical progress for South American union projects.”
“Our hug to Lula and the Brazilian people,” he said.

Well-being and social justice
For his part, Foreign Minister Carlos Faría exalted the importance of the arrival of the new ruler for the people of the South American giant.
“From the Homeland of Bolívar and Chávez we wish the brotherly Brazilian people a future of well-being and social justice with the leadership and capacity of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva,” he wrote in a message posted on his Twitter account.
This Sunday Lula officially became the new president of Brazil after being sworn in before the members of both chambers of the Brazilian Congress and receiving the presidential sash at the Planalto Palace, seat of the Executive of this South American nation.
