Of every 1,000 people there were 107 who were below the poverty line

The poverty increased in the first half of the year, according to a report released by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) this Thursday. According to the official report, poverty was located at 10.7%, with a half percentage point increase compared to the same period last year (10.2%). That meant that for every 1,000 people there were 107 who did not exceed the minimum income to cover their basic food and non-food needs that are considered for measurement.
The INE indicated that the incidence of household poverty it was estimated at 7.4%, which meant that for every 1,000 families there were 74 who were below the poverty line
In turn, indigence was 0.4% in the first semester, which indicated that for every 1,000 people there were four who did not reach the minimum income expected to cover basic food needs. Households below the indigence line stood at 0.3%.
