It was not drugs that were hidden in a duly conditioned stash of a truck, but contraband cigarettes. Yesterday morning, police officers from the El Tambo police station In Huancayo, they intervened the vehicle with license plate W1F-915, finding hidden inside it 16,400 packages of cigarettes, valued at about 80,000 soles that would come from Bolivia.
Around 09:45 hours, at the height of the Chanchas bridge, the vehicle that was driven by Higuido Guizado Casquino (50) intervened, who was arrested.
When reviewing the unit, sacks with 30 cardboard boxes with the description Inca were found, for which it is presumed that cigarette packs were found inside and in a heated manner, proceeding to their meticulous search, finding inside the cabin 10 packages of cigarette and inside the toolbox 30 more and a thorough search found another quantity heated between the plates.
PNP Colonel Colin Simn, head of the Junín Police Region, explained that the detained driver Higuido Guizado Casquino was coming from Ayacucho to Huancayo. The Inca, Carlyle and Lucky Strike brand cigarettes were seized and made available to the Fourth Criminal Prosecutor for alleged smuggling. According to the investigations, the seized merchandise was going to be distributed in different shops in Huancayo.
