The League of Peronist Governors will hold a meeting this afternoon in which a position will be established on the next ruling of the Supreme Court of Justice in the dispute between the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and the national government for the distribution of co-participation funds.

This was confirmed to Télam by official sources, who also indicated that the conclave will be from 2:00 p.m. at the Federal Investment Council (CFI), in downtown Buenos Aires.

The formalization of the League of Governors of the Frente de Todos (FdT) was finalized on June 10 after several meetings -also in the CFI- due to the situation of the distribution of co-participating resources and the legal dispute that is in the highest court.

Is that for the transfer of the Police to the city of Buenos Aires in 2016, the then Government of Mauricio Macri decided to raise the co-participation from 1.4% to 3.75% for CABA, until, in September 2020, President Alberto Fernández ordered to reduce that percentage to 3.5% and reallocate the difference in favor of the province of Buenos Aires.

The City then resorted to Justice to denounce the situation and the highest court ordered both jurisdictions to seek a political solution, but since this was not achieved, now it must issue a resolution.

The League of Governors was founded by Axel Kicillof (Buenos Aires); Sergio Ziliotto (La Pampa); Gustavo Bordet (Between Rivers); Ricardo Quintela (La Rioja); Raúl Jalil (Catamarca); Gerardo Zamora (Santiago del Estero); Sergio Unac (San Juan); Osvaldo Jaldo (Tucumán); Oscar Herrera Aguad (Missions); Alberto Rodríguez Saá (San Luis); Gildo Insfrán (Formosa); Jorge Capitanich (Chaco); Mariano Arcioni (Chubut); Gustavo Melella (Tierra del Fuego) and Alicia Kirchner (Santa Cruz).

The first meeting took place in June in Chaco, and the second was scheduled to be in Bariloche but it changed venue around the time: on that occasion, at the end of July, the meeting went to the CFI in the city of Buenos Aires, and that same day the leaders held a meeting with Fernández at the Casa Rosada.

The next meeting took place in the month of August, in La Plata, with Kicillof as host.

In each of the meetings, the governors expressed that a precautionary measure or a substantive ruling that addresses the interests of Buenos Aires goes against federalism, against the co-participation law and the norms that consolidate the percentages assigned to each district.
