Mexican oil (Pemex) controlled a fire at the Cadereyta refinery, in New Lionlocal emergency services reported Saturday, with no injuries reported.
The fire was registered in a heater of a hydrodesulfurizer inside the facility, a spokesman for state Civil Protection told Reuters.
Images released by authorities showed a thick column of black smoke emerging from the refinery.
Pemex has not responded to a request for comment.
