The Republic President, peter castleand the first lady, Lilia Paredesthey consigned to the teacher Gerardo Gaitán Merejildo as thesis advisor for obtain a master’s degree by Cesar Vallejo University. However, he assured that he was only a teacher of the presidential couple in the course of Research Development, as stated in a report issued by Panorama.
“The speaker has not participated as a thesis advisor, I have been a professor of a course. The teacher of a course is not the advisor. There is divergence there (…). The undersigned was invited by César Vallejo to teach in the master’s course. It was in the period 2012 – 1. In that period I was told that I should teach a course on Scientific Research Development in the district of Tacabamba”, explained the teacher.

In addition, Gaitán Merejildo mentioned that the César Vallejo University would have to issue a resolution indicating that you have been assigned as an advisor. However, that document does not exist.
“I have no link with the university to be the advisor. The university through the graduate school has to issue a resolution that determines that I am the advisor and that does not exist. To my credit there is no resolution that is advisory. That Pedro Castillo has put me and dedicated me to his thesis, it is an honor to be in his thesis… that does not imply anything… a tax investigation has already been opened, “he added.

For his part, the coordinator of the César Vallejo University in Tacabamba, Demetrio Rodriguez Vasquezpointed out that the owner of the Cesar Vallejo University, Cesar Acunaceded part of his land to pursue master’s studies.
“César Acuña kindly gave us Tacabamba – his land – to be able to carry out master’s studies for all the professors in this field (…) Starting in 2010, we formed a group of about 50 professors for the master’s course and among them was Professor Pedro Castillo Terrones and also his wife”, he mentioned.
