“This is a government that will give you the greatest confidence, do it (invest) with the greatest peace of mind.” In this way, President Pedro Castillo, on his second day of activities at the ninth Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles, invited businessmen from the United States to continue investing in Peru “without any fear.” He said that his government seeks to meet the needs of the people, far from ideologies and speeches.
After indicating that his government is working to keep the economy balanced, he urged to dispel any doubts in the face of some high-sounding or dissociative voices. continue to invest (…). I encourage you to continue investing without any fear, have the greatest confidence”, he insisted.
Castillo held bilateral meetings with representatives of large transnationals such as Amazon, Citigroup, Coca Cola, Freeport MacMoRan, Google, Microsoft, Pepsico, Pfizer. He gave guarantees that his government is committed to private investment, but responsible.
He also highlighted the experience of Minister Óscar Graham, whom he said is assuming the country’s economy responsibly. In addition, he commented that he has asked the president of the BCR to continue in office because he wants to keep the economy balanced. Castillo attended the meeting with Minister Graham and former Foreign Minister Óscar Maúrtua.
Meeting with the youth
The president also attended the VI Youth Forum of the Americas and the Plenary Session of Leaders. In the first of these meetings, he reported that his government is working on the creation of a new vice ministry. “Today, in this government, we are preparing the installation of the Vice Ministry of Youth in the Presidency of the Council of Ministers,” he said. And he expressed his desire to organize a meeting with young people from the Americas in Peru.
He also signed the Declaration of the Oceans, together with the presidents of Chile, Ecuador, Colombia, Costa Rica; foreign ministers from Mexico and Canada, and the US representative, John Kerry. The objective is to preserve marine resources and the conservation of the seas, through international policies against problems such as climate change and pollution.
