The president of the Socialist Party (PS), Paulina Vodanovic, referred to the possibility of implementing a cabinet change on the eve of the start of the second year of President Gabriel Boric’s term, and assured that the community is open to other militants integrate said adjustment.
in conversation with Radio CooperativeVodanovic indicated that “for me, the second year of the Government has already started, because the fire crisis has accelerated certain times: it seems to me that the deployment that the Government has had has been good, it has been on the ground, and this crisis has put to the test, I believe, all the ministers”.
In this line, the PS helmsman reflected that “if the President considers at some point that teams must be adapted, we will be available. We must support the decision he makes, and we will put the people he determines”.
“Each political moment has to have its evaluation; at the time, the president evaluated having more people from Democratic Socialism in the ministries, which he supposed would also happen at the sub-secretary level, but I think that the priority today is both to respond to the fire crisis, in terms of containing and ending that, and also promoting reforms and other issues,” added the PS leader.
Likewise, Vodanovic referred to the low “popularity” of some state ministers and whether or not that should influence a change in the cabinet. Given this, he declared that “the polls can be a sign, but I do not believe that any government has to make determinations based on them, nor that because of them this becomes a witch hunt. The president has to evaluate who he should count on and in what positions to continue working this year”.
“I think it is necessary that there be a review of the functioning of the ministries, and that from that the president makes the decision,” concluded the president of the Socialist Party.
