A 23-year-old was convicted of trying to commit a robbery: this Monday threatened two people in the area of Parque Rodó, with what he pretended to be a firearm. He was ignored because, according to what the victims told the police, the gun was a toy.
It happened at the intersection of the Gonzalo Ramírez, and Herrera and Reissig avenues. The people were surprised by the young man, who demanded their belongings but did not achieve the task. He immediately escaped on a bicycle, empty-handed.
According to police information, the officers located him later at another address and knew it was him from the description that the victims had given minutes before.
He was arrested and transferred to a police station in the first instance. The Justice later ordered that he be sentenced to 16 months in prison that will meet a liberty on trial.
