From the Plaza Germany Building, located in the Palermo neighborhood of Montevideo, Orsi and his closest team are working on preparations for the transition, which will culminate on March 1 with the transfer of command by current president Luis Lacalle Pou.
On the day, Orsi will review, together with the designated secretary and deputy secretary of the Presidency, Alejandro Sánchez and Jorge Díaz, a series of requests for meetings and meetings scheduled for the coming weeks.
One of the main focuses will be the final formation of the teams that will take charge of the ministries. As indicated, this process occurs in a context of tensions between incoming and outgoing authorities, linked to the quality and quantity of information provided about the status of the portfolios.
In addition, the appointments of presidents and boards of directors for public companies and state entities will be analyzed. This aspect is also part of the priority tasks of the transition agenda.
On the other hand, bilateral meetings between ministers appointed by Orsi and the current holders of each portfolio will begin this week, which will mark a new step towards the change of administration.
