In the behavior forecasts for the last quarter of 2022, the University Observatory also predicts that the dropout of young people at the higher education level will occur in private institutions due to the increase in the costs of their enrollment
The University Observatory (OBU) presented the four scenarios for higher education for the last quarter of 2022, which contemplate: increase in student desertion, worsening of physical and technological infrastructure, maintenance of labor unrest and manifestations of resistance, among the main aspects.
For the OBUthe first scenario, that of the increase in student desertion, would come as a consequence of the surprising decision to allocate quotas for careers and universities that were not selected by the aspiring high school graduates through the platform of the Planning Office for the University Sector ( OPSU), cited runrun.com.
The observatory pointed out that student desertion is not only visible in the public sector. In the private sector, the situation is also complex due to the increase in tuition prices.
The second scenario, not at all encouraging for public universities, is the conditions of the infrastructure, which makes it very difficult to develop academic-administrative activities in minimum quality conditions. Without counting the havoc that the underworld has caused by stealing essential equipment for the development of activities. The lack of transportation and dining contribute to the panorama becoming more somber.
The call to restart classes amid energetic protests by workers and teachers, and the application of the Onapre instructions, cause the conflict to continue as long as wages are not adjusted. This situation is the third scenario projected by the OBU for higher education.
The last scenario, but no less important, are the demonstrations of resistance, that great effort that has been made so that public education institutions are maintained.
The OBU pointed out that for this last quarter of the year, important aspects of the history of the universities and significant dates will stand out, but in very different conditions from those that were proposed by the pioneers of the universities or those who set dates that evoke the effort of previous generations. .
