Operation Acalento, to combat crimes of violence against children and adolescents, accounted for 18,542 assistances to victims in a period of one month (June 13 and July 13). According to the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, the operation was launched by the civil police from all over the country.
2,700 protective measures were requested and 1,588 aggressors were arrested, in addition to 313 search and seizure warrants were fulfilled. “Police action focused on investigations of physical violence, sexual violence, exploitation, grooming, mistreatment, homicides involving children and adolescents,” the ministry said, highlighting that, among the preventive measures adopted, there were 1,121 lectures and campaigns. educational.
In the Southeast Region alone, 719 suspects were arrested and 6,433 victims were treated. “São Paulo was highlighted at the national level, with 347 arrests and 89 arrests of minors”, details the ministry. 1,447 protective measures were requested in the region; 329 lectures and campaigns were given; and 174 search and seizure warrants were executed. In all, 114 minors were apprehended.
In the South Region, 5,132 victims were treated. Of these, 3,228 were in Santa Catarina. The integrated action of the civil police in Rio Grande do Sul and Paraná resulted in 183 arrests and the application of 636 protective measures. According to the ministry, 67 search warrants were carried out; and 7 minors were apprehended. In all, 98 lectures and campaigns were given in the region.
In the Northeast, 335 suspected of committing crimes against children and adolescents were arrested. In Maranhão alone, there were 140 arrests and 760 assistance to victims.
“With the integrated action of the civil police of Bahia, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Piauí, Maranhão, Rio Grande do Norte, Sergipe and Ceará, the result was the assistance of 2,494 victims of violence, application of 212 protective measures requested, delivery of 67 lectures and campaigns, 18 search and seizure warrants and 86 apprehended minors”, informed the Ministry of Justice.
The integrated action of the civil police in Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul and the Federal District resulted in the assistance to 967 victims in the Center-West Region. The survey also counted 94 arrests and the application of 75 protective measures; 10 search and seizure warrants; and in the apprehension of 86 minors.
Goiás was, in the region, the state that most assisted victims of crimes against children and adolescents: 579. Of the 599 lectures and campaigns implemented in the region, 585 were in Mato Grosso do Sul.
In the North Region, 255 suspects of crimes against children and adolescents were arrested. “The state that stood out in terms of numbers of arrests was Amapá, with 107, and in victims assisted, 768. In total, the region served 2,310 victims of violence”, informs the ministry. The folder adds that 330 protective measures were applied; 28 lectures and campaigns were given; and 50 search and seizure warrants were executed. In all, 51 minors were apprehended.
