A man was shot to death on Sunday in a confrontation between fans in the city of Belo Horizonte (southeast), hours before the Minas Gerais classic between Cruzeiro and Atlético Mineiro, police sources reported.
The deceased is a 25-year-old man. who was shot in the abdomen. He was taken to a local hospital where he died.
Another person passing by the place where the incidents were recorded received a bullet in the back, but his condition is “stable”, police said.
About 50 fans participated in the incidents and they occurred from noon in the Bela Vista neighborhood, east of Belo Horizonte, a city of 2.5 million inhabitants.
Several cars were vandalized and there were also broken windows of houses in the neighborhood, as seen in various images.
Cruzeiro, currently in the second division of Brazil, and Atlético Mineiro, current national champion of this country, they face sunday night in a match of the state championship of Minas Gerais.
