The protests by public workers who reject that the government of Nicolás Maduro did not set a new salary amount during the expected announcement on May 1st continue: This Monday, May 8, employees from different sectors, retirees and pensioners met in front of to the headquarters of the Comptroller General of the Republiclocated on Avenida Andrés Bello, to demand with pot-slaps an answer “of what they have done with the finances of this country.”
The so-called protest of the empty pots also had the objective of denouncing the acts of corruption that compromise various officials belonging to state companies.

Similarly, they denounced that the government has condemned retirees to live in extreme poverty.

Despite the fact that no official from the Comptroller’s Office came out to give answers of any kind to the workers, other employees of the Ombudsman they approached to listen and take note of the demands.
One of the Ombudsman’s employees stated that he was unaware of the requests and claims that different groups of public workers have made for months through protests, many of them in front of the entity’s main headquarters, the last being last Wednesday. May 3.

“Apparently the workers of the Ombudsman do not watch the news, they do not have Twitter, or anything,” one of the workers in the education sector mocked.
They assured that they will do everything possible to ensure that the union spokespersons can meet with the Ombudsman, Alfredo Ruiz Angulo.
The workers assured that they will remain in the streets, so this coming Monday, May 15, they will protest in front of the Ombudsman’s office where they will demand a response to the act delivered.
