What we are in life, what we become, will always be indebted to our parents. With our mother, of course, origin and sustenance of our existence, but also with our father, who not because he is stigmatized more than once is he certainly “anyone”.
There may be absent fathers, little affective, forgetful, too strict and even violent, but there are also, and many, who are just the opposite. Consecrated, exemplary, responsible, loving parents. Fathers who share side by side with mothers the upbringing and education of their children, or who even assume it alone, with dedication and sacrifice, due to the loss or abandonment of their spouses.
Even distant or unknown parents leave a mark on their children, a mark for growth and self-improvement. But, without a doubt, they are the closest, understanding and affectionate, hard-working, constant and dedicated, the ones that provoke the greatest respect and admiration from their offspring.
This Sunday, which throughout Cuba and much of the world celebrates the Father’s Day, OnCuba also wants to honor them. To everyone and, especially, to those who, even in the most difficult moments of life, pandemic, nor in the face of the steepest difficulties of the crisis, have they put aside their responsibility and their love. Thanks to this, their children, the country and the world in which they live can aspire to be better.
