The presidential candidate insisted on carrying out a two-round process for the selection of the “sole representative”, to which he added that said electoral event leaves the doors of “reliability” open
The president of the political organization Movement for Democracy and Inclusion (MDI) Nick Evansspecified this Thursday that it is imperative that an “accurate schedule” be implemented for the opposition primaries “that involve all the candidates”, in the face of the 2024 presidential elections.
In this sense, the presidential candidate exhorted the representatives of the Unitarian Platform to plan and foresee democratic conditions in a pre-campaign and campaign scenario towards this event, taking into account the lapses.
“That they do not catch us with our pants down, in an advance of the presidential electoral process,” said the political scientist.
In the same way, Evans pointed out that the primary process must go beyond the unitary platform, for which he called for the construction of an Electoral Commission “outside the political teams of the candidates.”
The activist added that said commission will have to count on the participation of organizations such as Súmate, the Andrés Bello Catholic University (UCAB), and all those that provide credibility to the electoral process.

Likewise, the political scientist applauded the decision made by the Unitarian Platform and announced by its main spokesperson, Omar Barboza, to hold the electoral process “without exclusions or disqualifications” for those leaders who are not members of the G-4.
“We, without being part of the Unitarian Platform, are going to participate in these primaries, as long as the conditions exist,” Evans specified.
The presidential candidate insisted on carrying out a two-round process for the selection of the “sole representative”, to which he added that said electoral event leaves the doors of “reliability” open, “during the first date all the candidates for the presidency and in the second; the most voted”.
He ratified his willingness to participate in the process and his intention to “be part of a citizenry that is not disconnected from the Venezuelan reality.”
