The approval of new regulatory frameworks, such as the Legal Framework for Sanitation and the Gas Law, will help attract foreign investment to Brazil and stimulate the country’s economic recovery, Economy Minister Paulo Guedes said today (29). The meeting took place at the Brazilian embassy in France and, according to the Ministry of Economy, was attended by businessmen from the industrial, financial, technological and service sectors. For Guedes, the reforms promoted by the government in recent years will help to improve the national infrastructure through private investments.

During the meeting, the minister showed French businessmen data that prove the good economic results. According to the folder, Guedes mentioned the investments made in the last three years, even in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic.

According to the Ministry of Economy, Guedes explained that the economic team will continue to execute the projects necessary to boost Brazil’s economy, improve the regulatory and business environment, create jobs and offer public services more efficiently.

Also this Tuesday, Guedes met with directors of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) to discuss Brazil’s accession to full membership of the entity, which brings together the most industrialized economies on the planet. The minister met with the OECD’s Director of Legal Affairs, Josée Fecteau, and with the group’s Director of Global Relations, Andreas Schall.

Tomorrow (30), Guedes will be in Spain, where he has scheduled meetings with the country’s main CEOs and with the Brazil-Spain Business Council, among other commitments. On Thursday (31), he will meet with the Spanish Minister of Economy, Nadia Calviño.
