New intermediate room in session of attempted impeachment of Sandra Quiñónez

Not having the necessary votes for the political trial of Attorney General Sandra Quiñónez, the deputies of the Concertación and the Abdismo, proposed a new intermediate quarter of the extraordinary session.

After five hours of debate, the new fourth intermission of the extraordinary session was approved where the accusatory libel for the political trial of the State Attorney General, Sandra Quiñónez, is analyzed.

The session began on Sunday and after eight hours of debate, a fourth intermission was arranged until this Monday at 2:00 p.m.

Once again it was the Liberal deputy Eusebio Alvarenga who requested an intermediate room, due to an evident lack of votes to continue with the process of prosecuting the Attorney General of the State, Sandra Quiñónez.

This is the third trial attempt against the attorney general, the first was at the end of May 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. On that occasion, 58 votes against, 18 in favor, 1 abstention and 3 absences were obtained.

The second attempt was carried out in March 2022, where 37 in favor, 32 against, 6 abstentions and 5 absentees were achieved.

The extraordinary session will continue tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.
