National Hospital calls for the hiring of guards

The Itauguá National Hospital, dependent on the Ministry of Health, called for a tender for the hiring of the security and surveillance service. The call was published last Tuesday, March 1, and the total value of the call is G. 1,321 million.

Specifically, the hospital seeks the hiring of 20 security guards. Among them, eight guards will serve from 06 to 14 hours. Six guards will work from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. And the remaining six will work from 22 to 06 in the morning.

The caller ID is 402133 and is named; “Contracting of the Security and Surveillance Service for the National Hospital”. Bid opening date will be March 25.

BACKGROUND

The last time that the National Hospital called for bids for the security guard service was in December 2020. On that occasion, the company Tapiti SRL was awarded. The value of the contract at that time was G. 1,544 million.

GONZALEZ

Yolanda González, director of the Itauguá National Hospital, reported that since March they have had internal guards due to the expiration of the contract with the last security company. But with the growth of the hospital, these internal guards are insufficient.

“That is why we have requested the support of police personnel to increase what the Ministry of Health provided us. There are eight that cover emergencies”, he pointed out.

It is about five internal guards per shift and eight police officers per shift who currently cover the service.

The contract with Tapiti SRL lasted until December 2021, but thanks to an addendum, it was extended for two more months until February.

“I hope that as soon as possible we can count on the guards. The process can take three months. We are requesting more police personnel and even military personnel to control the tents,” he reported.

IRREGULAR COMPANIES

According to newspaper sources, some security firms with a history of committing irregularities, such as Silver Vip and Paraguay Security, would appear for the call. The first was accused by her own guards of not paying wages in accordance with the workload. While Paraguay Security was accused of providing poor working conditions to its guards.

In this regard, González reported that they are going to report to Health and to the DNCP if the awarded company does not comply with the working conditions. Since they have experience of a company dedicated to the cleaning sector that committed irregularities.
