The National Assembly (AN) will install the new legislative period 2025-2026 this Sunday, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Internal and Debating Regulations (Ridan).
On the day, the parliamentary bloc of the Homeland and the opposition bench are expected to make their proposals for the election of the new board of directors of the AN, which will be valid for a period of one year.
Approval and swearing in of the new board
The installation session will be chaired by Deputy Jorge Rodríguez, since, since it is an annual installation, the Installation Commission is led by the acting President of Parliament, in accordance with article 11 of the Ridan, review the AN website.
After the approval and swearing-in of the new board, the president who is appointed will offer his initial speech. In addition, as part of the protocol acts, the acting board and other parliamentarians honor the Father of the Nation, Simón Bolívar.
Article 219 of the Constitution of the Republic establishes that every January 5 begins the annual period of the National Parliament and with it the State and Municipal Councils.
