A man arrived at a police station in Estación Central during the early hours of this Monday, seeking help for a serious stab wound to the chest, which would ultimately cost him his life.
Carabineros personnel applied first aid care before transferring him with specialized personnel.
Despite the efforts of the SAMU, Firefighters and Carabineros, the person died without being able to provide further information on the circumstances in which he received the injury.
Prosecutor Felipe Olivari of the Central North Prosecutor’s Office said that the case is being investigated as a simple homicide.
Unfortunately, the victim was unable to provide details about what happened, as he quickly vanished after arriving at the police station. Olivari added that the man received medical attention by SAMU and Firefighters, who finally transferred him to a care center. However, along the way, in the ambulance, they reported that he had died from the sharp wound.
The investigation of the case is in charge of the OS9 department and the Labocar personnel, who are investigating the police station. Subsequently, the body of the deceased will be examined to determine the circumstances of the event.
Carabineros indicated that they will check the cameras in the immediate vicinity, since the site of the event could have been nearby, since the victim arrived on foot and had a large wound.
