The Dominican Municipal League (LMD) and the Ministry of Public Administration (MAP) will deliver 24 trucks, including compactors and versatile trucks, as an incentive to local governments that achieved the highest rates of institutional performance.
The performance of the councils appears in the ranking that combines indicators of internal management and services (urban sanitation) monitored through the Municipal SISMAP.
In addition and as an innovation for the year 2021, an incentive for “institutional improvement” was defined for those who increased their scores in the internal management indicators during the 2020-2021 period.
In this way, the nine winning local governments for their institutional performance are: in the category of municipalities with a population greater than 50 thousand inhabitants: Baní (96.63), Santiago de los Caballeros (95.13) and Santo Domingo Norte (90.81); and in the category of municipalities with a population of less than 50 thousand inhabitants: Bánica (96.41), Jarabacoa (94.46) and Jánico (87.06). In the category of municipal district boards: Veragua (93.49), Hato del Yaque (86.15) and Pantoja (85.27).
Likewise, the fifteen local governments that have won incentives for their institutional improvement are: in the category of municipalities with a population greater than 50 thousand inhabitants: Higüey with an increase of 40.38 points, San Juan de la Maguana that advanced 38.01 points and Santo Domingo Oeste with an increase of 37.22 points; In the category of municipalities with a population of less than 50,000 inhabitants, the following advanced: Tenares (74.12 points), Los Cacaos (63.36), Pepillo Salcedo (55.12), Cevicos (54.02), Neiba (53.53) and Guayubín (51.32). In the category of municipal district boards, the largest increases were: Maimón-Puerto Plata (62.92), La Guáyiga (57.11), El Carril (50.01), Las Palomas (44.28), Guatapanal (43.16) and El Rubio (39.98).
