The undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), José Luis Satdjian, informed the press that no irregularities were found in four audits made within the ministry, and that only opportunities for improvement were seen.
“Audits were carried out in some areas, including communication, contraceptive methods and the automotive fleet,” added the government chief, but nothing seen in the audits are events subject to a judicial process.
In the current MSP administration, the Internal Audit Unit was created, which has inspected past procedures and monitors current ones in order to detect potential irregularities or actions to be corrected. The most scrutinized areas are the acquisition of vaccines, contraceptive methods, purchase of drugs by court order and administrative areas (payment of salaries, hiring of officials, etc.), and after, explained the undersecretary.
As published by the weekly ChronicleSatdjian assured that “audits of the current management are being carried out in real time” but that the previous efforts cannot be analyzed in depth because “the Ministry does not have a budget or very broad investment areas to do that. Three or four areas were audited and opportunities for improvement were found ”.
