More than 50,000 drivers were sanctioned in January for failing to comply with the Traffic Regulations

The National Police reported this Tuesday that more than 50,000 drivers were sanctioned for failing to comply with the Traffic Regulations during the month of January.

Among the most common offenses are: 15,869 for speeding and 1,503 for proven drunkenness.

They highlighted that they took some 248 firearms and 8,234 ammunition off the streets, seized more than 30,000 balboas, 2,084 packages of drugs, recovered 110 livestock, 68 vehicles and carried out 992 raids.

On the other hand, they announced that from January 1 to 31, 2022 they captured 4,241 people nationwide, of which 2,497 were through trades, 1,137 for administrative offenses, 385 for flagrancy, 212 for micro-trafficking and 10 for drug trafficking.
