Andy Poloa 27-year-old Peruvian striker, has been suspended as a player for the Portland Timbers and vetoed by Major League Soccer in an official statement published this Thursday, after learning of the complaint filed by his wife, Genesis Alarcón, for having suffered gender-based violence.

In this way, Polo is prohibited from participating in any team activity, pending the investigation launched by the MLS, due to the accusations of gender violence against him.

The American soccer league announced that it will maintain close communication with the Timbers and the MLS Players Association throughout the process.
