Minister Siches announces that they will file a complaint against those responsible for looting in a supermarket in Talagante

The Minister of the Interior, Izkia Sichesannounced that the Government will sue those responsible for the looting carried out in a supermarket in Talagante last Monday night.

It should be noted that some 200 people, including minors, forced their way into the premises of a Tottus supermarket in the Talagante district. It was the workers themselves who denounced the incident after taking refuge inside.

Carabineros Colonel Carlos Rojas, from the 23rd Police Station, pointed out that “currently, 40 people are detained, including men and women, some minors and of different nationalities.”

After receiving criticism from the opposition for ignoring the issue – she argued that her focus was on the truckers’ strike – Minister Siches held a meeting with the deputy and president of the House Security Commission, Raul Leiva and the mayor of Talagante, Carlos Alvarez to analyze what happened.

“We have addressed in depth the unfortunate events where we are concerned about the repetitive and violent act that attacks the city of Talagante again,” said the head of the Interior.

The mayor for his part said that “we all understand that security is a public good that we must protect together, so I reiterate my thanks to the minister for this space.”

Siches finally communicated that the Government “has decided to sue us and continue working together to take preventive actions that allow events like these not to be repeated.”
