The Minister of the Interior and Justice, Remigio Ceballos, warned of scattered rains and showers in several states of the country derived from the passage of Tropical Wave 46.
“Citizens are informed about the passage of Tropical Wave No. 46 through the national territory, generating cloudiness and electrical activity over the states of Aragua, Anzoátegui, Carabobo, Delta Amacuro, north of Guárico, Monagas, Sucre and the Capital District” , specified the head of the ministerial portfolio through his Twitter account after 6:00 PM on Monday, October 24.

The heavy rains recorded this Monday, October 24, in different states of the country caused the collapse of houses, floods and overflow of streams in Caracas and several states of the country. In the La Ladera sector of the 23 de Enero parish in Caracas, several houses collapsed. It was also reported that 162 people were evicted, including three people with disabilities and ten older adults.
Flooding of rivers and streams were also recorded in the states of Lara and Miranda. Mérida, Zulia, Vargas, Anzoátegui and Guárico, entities that have also been affected by rains in recent weeks. Due to the landslides that occurred in Las Tejerías at the beginning of the month (October 8) and El Castaño, areas of Aragua state, the Maduro government ordered governors, mayors and security personnel to be on alert. At the beginning of October, the government counted more than 64,000 families affected, since the beginning of the rainy season (June).
