The Ministry of Labor (MTSS) reported this Tuesday that in June there were 45,683 workers in unemployment insurance, which meant a reduction of 1.8%, with 818 fewer beneficiaries compared to May. June figures confirm a stable trend so far this year, with an average of 46,000 people in the first half.
The decrease was indeed substantial in the year-on-year comparison and stood at 40.5% (last year there had been 76,766 beneficiaries).
Regarding the modalities, he reported that almost eight out of every 10 workers who are in the subsidy are in total unemployment insurance (36,278) and the remaining 20% in the partial (9,405). The monthly reduction was due to a decrease in the number of workers in total unemployment insurance.
In June, 9,591 entered, a lower figure than in May and almost the same amount as in April. 51.6% (4,953) were due to reduction or suspension and 48.4% (4,638) for dismissal.
The report indicated that between May and June 10,409 people left unemployment insurance, a figure higher than May when there were 7,560, although lower than that verified in April (12,943). Of the total, 4,720 left due to reinstatement and 5,689 due to dismissal. The breakdown by activity category did not show significant variations, with a slight increase in the trade of 5% and a more relevant reduction in the agricultural sector of 18%.
