Mides has almost 100 decentralized offices in Canelones

Throughout the country there are more than 230 decentralized service points of the Ministry of Social Development (Mides), about 100 are in the department of Canelones.

In dialogue with the Presidential Communication, Martín Lema stated that the best way to know the state of the situation of people is through tours of the territory. He reported that the visits to Canelones began in the city of La Paz, upon arrival at the day center for the elderly, then continued through Toledo, Ciudad de la Costa, Colonia Nicolich, Las Cumbres settlement, and ended at the La Montañesa shelter, located in Salinas. , department of Canelones.

The objective is to speak with people who receive attention, in many cases from Mides, to learn about the evolution of the proposals and the implementation of the different policies, the minister assured.

In addition, he referred to mobile offices as points that favor access when users are not close to a Territorial Office. With this modality, consultations and services can be carried out without the need for the person to travel. “It allows us a policy of closeness, which we understand must be deepened, because contact with people has to be on a daily basis,” he said.

He stated that, at present, the departments of Montevideo, Canelones and Cerro Largo have mobile offices and that they will soon start operating in Paysandú and Maldonado. In addition, it is planned to have these devices in all departments.

He highlighted that several actions of the Secretary of State achieve a great impact in the department of Canelones, such as the Social Bonus with UTE, which discounts up to 90% in the rate of households in vulnerable situations, the Family Allowances-Equity Plan and the Accesos program, which through sheltered work provides opportunities to generate greater autonomy.
