Mayor of Ocoña says they wanted to “silence” her in Congress

The mayor of Ocoña, Marilú Gonzáles Porras, indicated that after the incident with the president of Congress, María Del Carmen Alva, one of the parliamentarian’s advisers called her phone and ordered her to remain silent. “First she apologized to me on behalf of the president and then she told me not to tell the media because they will surely start calling me, I just listened to her. She told me in a good way,” she said.

He considered that it is impossible to establish a new space for dialogue with the president of Parliament because he feels that Alva is an arrogant person.

“I feel outraged by the humiliation and the way he treated me, just to see the good of all Peruvians, I did not claim only for my municipality, but for everyone,” said the mayor.

Marilú Gonzáles Porras had a meeting with the Minister of Labor and Betssy Chávez Chino, who asked the president of Congress for her public apology.
