The political storm in the municipality of La Floresta took a new turn in the last hours due to an administrative investigation by the Canelones Intendancy that concluded that there are “sufficient elements of conviction” to affirm that the communist mayor Néstor Erramouspe had behaviors that fit with “workplace harassment or mobbing and harassment for reasons of gender”.
Mayor Yamandú Orsi said on radio Sarandí that they would pass the issue to the Departmental Board, given that the commune does not have “disciplinary power” to intercede in the activity of the head of a municipality. The institutional resolution of this Friday determines, on the other hand, the “immediate intervention of Occupational Psychology and Occupational Health to accompany and support the human group.”
The episode will have a new chapter this Tuesday, when the municipal council votes the mayor of the Communist Party his statutory licenseas it appears from the agenda to which he agreed The Observer. Despite the fact that Erramouspe had refused to step aside at the beginning of the month, recent developments led him to change his decision, in agreement with his political sector in Canelones, assured communist sources.
“Here came the order from above that you have to take leave”he assured The Observer the white deputy Alfonso Lereté, who in recent months has led the way in denouncing irregularities in La Floresta. “The mayor is always late anyway. All these people have made a thunderous silence,” said the legislator, who accuses that the authorities have been aware of the issue since March.

The municipal leader will use his license to attend a workshop on masculinities, similar to the one attended by the deputy of that same community, Gerardo Núñez, after the ruling of the Justice on a situation of gender violence. The departmental Political Table, chaired by the communist Susana Muñiz, will integrate this Monday a joint commission between mayors, councilors and representatives of the administration to follow up on the issue, sources from the Broad Front confirmed.
Although the case is sensitive for the Party and for the MPP, each political movement in the last few hours was agreed bilaterally between the mayor Orsi and the communist leader Marcelo Metediera.
The front leadership has been silent, and will remain so until the Departmental meets tonight, although some sectors have already defined their steps to follow. Such is the case of the Socialist Party, which this Tuesday will request the resignation of Erramouspe from the municipality of La Floresta, as confirmed The Observer. Other groups such as the MPP and the Assembly of Uruguay are also prone to this position, the sources explained.
