For this reason, the proclamation of the candidates for mayor María de Lima and Guillermo Rodríguez was loaded with the emotion of saying goodbye to mayor Carlos Moreira and also with the uncertainty that the lack of this leadership will generate in the mass of voters, immersed in the usual internal fight that occurs in each election.
This could be read in the words of María de Lima, who clearly states that they are the same thing: “We are going to leave everything so that the National Party wins. Tell them that there is a commitment to work together. After May 11, we will surely meet to have a single work and meeting program.” Each one will show its nuances, but it can be seen that they are part of the same whole.
Later, María De Lima highlighted unity. “We have to be really united because the rival is outside, it is not inside us.” Reaffirming the concept he expressed: “the enemy is outside the National Party. We strengthen each other. I told Guillermo when we were together that we both groups feed each other here. If we take care of ourselves and protect ourselves and work with respect, with strength and with enthusiasm, we will precisely achieve the victory of the National Party and retain the Municipality of Colonia.”
The proclaimed leader insists on the importance of working together. “If we don’t do it we lose, guys. The enemies are outside,” he remarks.
“Be clear. “We are all going to work, first for the National Party and for the coalition to retain the government.”
