The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, ratified it this Sunday, January 5 to the elected board of directors of the National Assembly (AN) who will attend, complying with the Constitution and attending to the legal call, “to swear me in as President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.”

The head of state took advantage of his digital profiles to congratulate the ratification of the AN for the new legislative period 2025-2026, in which he assured “Habemus National Assembly!”

“The most sovereign, constitutional and legitimate National Assembly of Venezuela has been installed, I congratulate Dr. Jorge Rodríguez, Pedro Infante and América Pérez as the elected board of directors,” he expressed.

AN called on Maduro to be sworn in on January 10

The president of the AN, Jorge Rodríguez, as the first act of his new period at the head of the Legislative Branch, sent Nicolás Maduro the invitation to come on January 10 to be sworn in again as re-elected head of state on July 28 of 2024.

In this sense, he highlighted that the Parliament headquarters is the only place established by the Constitution so that the President can be sworn in for a new six-year term, 2025-2031.

During the installation act of the 2025-2026 legislative period, Rodríguez specified that the call for the swearing-in It is at 12 noon at the Federal Legislative Palace headquarters.
