Deputy Nicolás Maduro Guerra affirmed that Venezuela is experiencing non-linear growth of the national economy and announced “good news” at the end of the year. Regarding an eventual advancement of elections, he indicated that we must wait for what is generated from the dialogue, although it remains paralyzed and the official delegation is waiting for the social agreement to be “fulfilled”.
Nicolás Maduro Guerra, deputy of the National Assembly elected in 2020 and son of President Nicolás Maduro, affirmed this Sunday that the Venezuelan economy is growing, although not linearly, which allows the country to stabilize and become independent. He asserted that currently in the country there is an important economic diversification in manufacturing, industry and commerce, which is seen at all levels.
In an interview granted to Venevision, Maduro Guerra stressed that even in Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) there are improvements with the increase in production despite the fact that the “blockade” prevents them from buying all the necessary spare parts to optimize the refineries and continue oil production. In this sense, he announced that by the end of the year there will be good economic news.
Regarding the Special Economic Zones (ZEE), he indicated that of the initial five announced by Maduro, four are already ready to be executed and that La Tortuga is about to be ready to settle. He hopes that in July of this year the decree will be made official so that La Guaira, Punto Fijo, Margarita, Puerto Cabello and the aforementioned can already call for private investment.
In this sense, he stressed that there are many countries interested in investing to stimulate tourism such as China, Russia, Turkey, South Africa, Japan, India, Mexico and European countries.

When asked about an eventual advancement of the elections, Maduro Guerra explained that we must wait to see what happens with the dialogue, which is still halted in Mexico, and how the social agreement is being built —of which he affirms that they are still waiting for is complied with by the opposition—, since he affirmed that what is wanted is a country “that we all have to do politics without persecution.”
He also recalled that the Constitution establishes that in 2024 there must be mandatory elections and reiterated that they already have a candidate for it, although he did not make official who it would be.
This also led him to talk about the new formation of the National Electoral Council (CNE), saying that the opposition was the one who asked to renew the Electoral Power and, for the sake of union and political agreement, it was that the rectors resigned in order to “return to politics.” Therefore, he insisted on the point that the political factors must return to a “non-persecution” policy.
In his opinion, the issue of the opposition primary elections is a “disaster” because there is evidence of an “atomization” of its factors and they are not serious. In this sense, he hopes that there may be a “serious opposition” in Venezuela and that it recognizes Chavismo, since it is necessary to point out the things that are wrong to be able to fix them but, yes, that they are within the laws and that they are not fall into “sterile debates”.

He denied that he is being prepared as a successor to Nicolás Maduro, although he did say that he is barely 33 years old and is on a learning path, as well as expressing that he is preparing to serve Venezuelans from wherever he is called upon.
Legislator Nicolás Maduro Guerra reiterated that his father has been the one who has encouraged dialogue in the country since he assumed the presidency in 2013. He recalled that in November 2022, a social agreement was signed to have 3.2 billion dollars on hand, which would be administered by the UN, to meet certain basic needs. However, he said that he is still waiting for it to come to pass.
“We are open to a dialogue but Maduro has a price on his head. We are negotiating almost with a gun to the head. We are willing to continue negotiating if they comply with some things such as lifting sanctions, releasing prisoners abroad like Alex Saab (…) We are going up, but what is needed is for them to understand that there is a government and a Constitution, “he stressed.
He asserted that Maduro is a very patient man and that he likes to do things well.
