This Monday, June 6, Lacalle reported through his Twitter account that due to the trip he had scheduled for this Tuesday to Los Angeles, to participate in the Summit of the Americas in the US, a PCR test was carried out.

“The result of it was that I am positive for Covid-19. As a result of this situation, I must cancel all activities for the next few days,” the president announced.

The Summit will be held from the week of June 6 to 10 in Los Angeles, California, and its central theme is “Building a sustainable, resilient and equitable future.”

On the other hand, this Monday the weekly report of the Ministry of Public Health on the evolution of Covid-19 cases in Uruguay was released.

According to the MSP, from May 29 to June 4, 9,184 new cases of Covid-19 were registered, a positivity of 20.6%.

There are currently 7,661 patients with the disease. Bed occupancy in ICU is 66.2%.

In the last week, 24 deaths were registered, so the total number of deaths, since March 13, 2020, is 7,262 people.
