The bill “By which any foreign legal entity dedicated to the commercialization of hydrocarbons for the provision of fuels and biofuels is exempted from compliance with the provisions set forth in laws number 2,051/2003 and 6,355/2019, and its modification”, sanctioned last Wednesday, is generating a lot of criticism from various parties.
Blas Llano, a national senator for the PLRA, said that his bench decided not to participate in the session because it was called only two hours before.
“We were going to deal with it without an analysis and any previous debate. Pablo Seitz, head of Public Procurement acknowledges that the project is impossible to fulfill. This violates constitutional principles”, he expressed during an interview for 730 AM.
He stressed that we are in an election year, so the political class should not take advantage of the needs of the people.
“This will have very profound consequences. I urge Mario Abdo Benítez to veto this bill,” he urged.

The bill passed in Parliament was debated. This is due to the fact that the initiative presented on April 18 established the elimination only of the requirement of sworn declarations for suppliers. But the project presented on April 25, establishes to ignore the Public Procurement Law, something very different.
Llano stressed that it is not even clear where the document comes from. That is, if it is promoted by Petropar, the truckers or some legislators.
“This is the third similar project. It is handled very irresponsibly. People believe that fuel prices will be lowered and that will not be the case”, he finally warned.
