Resignation of Jonny Martínez Mézquita

It is recalled that last week the former ambassador of the Dominican Republic in Mexico, Jonny Martínez Mézquita, resigned from the PLD, understanding that things happened in that party that due to a matter of honor and dignity he could not ignore.

In a communication addressed to Charles Mariotti, Secretary General of the PLD, the diplomat stated that he joined that organization politics at the age of 16 and stayed for decades, making it extremely difficult to leave what was practically his home for so long.

“I never thought that the day would come when I would have to sign out of a party that I entered very young, where I was trained and modesty aside, I honestly and responsibly fulfilled all the assigned tasks, attached to my principles and convictions, which gave me they were instilled by Prof. Juan Bosch”, he stated.

The communication details the processes lived by Martínez Mézquita in the purple organization, from his inclusion, until his appointment as president of the party in Villa Bisonó-Navarrete, for more than 20 years, until he decided to pass the torch to the youngest in December of year 2022.
