The multinational airline Latam Airlines reported that it will suspend its operations from June 4 to September 3, at the Jaén airport (Cajamarca), due to maintenance work on the runway.
“After the inspection on the runway, the authority has determined the temporary closure of the same, not verifying the optimal conditions for the safe development of aeronautical operations”Latam said in a statement.
He added that they have been forced to cancel flights to and from the city in question. “We inform that from this Saturday, June 4 to September 3, we will cancel our operation in Jaén, hoping that the authority and the concessionaire can define the time that the corrective maintenance work on the runway will require”specifies the document.
It was also indicated that passengers with affected flights will be able to access flexibilities for changes and/or refunds without any type of penalty established in the “My trips” section of the Latam website.
“The protection option has been arranged without a fine or difference in fare to an alternate airport: Chiclayo, Tarapoto and Cajamarca.”, added the airline.
