The Investigative Police (PDI) detected this Friday morning a bus with 65 immigrants who entered the country through irregular routes. The discovery occurred in the commune of Lampa, Metropolitan Region.
The PDI detected the vehicle in the middle of an inspection and transferred the occupants to the commune of Estación Central, to carry out their control. According to T13the bus came from Colchane, Tarapacá Region, and was heading to the capital of the country.
On the bus there were women, men and children of different ages. Some had a provisional card, while others entered the national territory through unauthorized access. Among the occupants were immigrants of Peruvian, Bolivian and Venezuelan nationality.
One of the passengers told the aforementioned outlet that he entered the country through an irregular route and noted that they charged him $65,000 pesos for the ticket to Santiago.
The mayor of Estación Central, Felipe Muñoz, indicated that “on this bus there were four people in two seats.”
For his part, Lieutenant Colonel of Carabineros Leonardo alache He commented that “taking into account that both the driver and the passengers indicate that they came from Iquique, that is, not from the border, the crime of trafficking in migrants would not come together for the moment.”
