Lacalle Pou's private secretary denies being aware of Abdala's follow-up

The private secretary of President Luis Lacalle Pou, Nicolás Martínez, told The Observedr that the only dialogue he had with the former presidential custodian Alejandro Astesiano on the president of the PIT-CNT, Marcelo AbdalaIt was on February 4, immediately after the accident and it ended that day. Martínez assured that he did not receive any material on monitoring the trade unionist after that day.

According to Martínez, and it arises from the chats and audios to which he accessed The Observer and that Martínez also showed, the dialogue began at 5:48 p.m. At that moment, minutes after the accident, Astesiano sends him the police report of the crash and Abdala’s file.

Martínez decided to respond on the subject after the Broad Front issued a public statement in which it asked the government to “act immediately and investigate to the last consequences.” “The act constitutes a very serious affront to the Republic and to our country’s own democracy,” said the political force.

In addition, the FA affirmed that from the audios “it appears that the personal secretary of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Martínez, and important police authorities were aware of the steps taken by Astesiano.”

Martinez denied that claim. He added that the only mention of the cameras in the dialogue with Astesiano occurs when the guard tells him: “The cameras don’t let me see much, you see. But I’m with all that now. I’m already asking for spirometry results and everything.”

As can be seen in the chat image, the ex-custodian sends him an image from the command center that works in the Presidency, and that has access to the cameras of the Ministry of the Interior. Martínez said that Astesiano did not inform him if he was in the center of Torre Ejecutiva or that of Suárez and Reyes.

After a while Astesiano informed him that the spirometry had given 1.53 and that the police chief had arranged for the coordinator to go there along with the area chief. He immediately sent her photos of the car, Abdala’s driver’s license, the result of the spirometry, among other documents related to the event.

As it has already come out, Martínez affirms that “he is in the oven”, and adds: “He also fled, they caught him two blocks away”. In the press.

And Astesiano finishes off: “Nico, it’s time for us to kill him. You have to kill him, bo. Let them get their act together: we have to kill this son of a bitch”. And he closes: “I’m ready, Nico.” Martinez did not answer him.

Asked for what purpose Astesiano was sending him this type of information, Martínez replied that he was sending him “any information that he considered important.”

As the president’s secretary showed, they resumed the dialogue on WhatsApp the next day, February 5, with some images that Astesiano sent him about the president’s father Luis Alberto Lacalle Herrera, and then on February 12 with some audios.
